Cool article Jayson. Craven is capable of creating really provocative, chilling and truly twisted material when he's on form - films like A Nightmare on Elm Street, Last House on the Left, The Hills Have Eyes and Scream are considered classics for a reason. You're so right though, in his efforts to maintain a mainstream appeal - he often dilutes his potential. Shame. My Soul To Take looks highly derivative.
