Swap Meet Finds: Now with 15% more Horror Porn...

.
The chill in the air stopped some sellers from showing up but today's haul was surprising for nearly not picking my ass this morning. This 1983 Media Home Entertainment VHS of Carpenter's Assault on Precinct 13 is one of the better finds. I nearly really cared for this one no matter how many times I sit through it. Funny thing is I can't explain why, even Vampires and Dark Star had more "watchability" for me. Still cool though, yet another film I had no idea Media debuted on home video.

Next up is a film I've been itching to see again for years. The problem is it seems to purposely allude me and this time is no different. I remember seeing Class of Nuke 'Em High on USA's long gone but not forgotten Up All Night. This was probably my first exposure to Troma product and I was almost eleven at the time so it felt like I was watching something forbidden. Every used DVD I've found has been annihilated by poor care and the last time it was on TV, G4's Movies That Don't Suck, I got twenty minutes in before the channel crapped out in digital freezing. Unfortunately, I only noticed at home that this cassette has mold running through the tape. So yeah, no good for playing unless you want a pain-in-the-ass VCR clean-up. Blah, it was only a quarter...

Interestingly, DVDCompare states this out-of-print Japanese Nuke... DVD (pictured here) is the longest running release known clocking at fifteen minutes longer than Troma's Unrated Director's Cut DVD. Anyone have any more info or places this blogger can score a copy of this 96 minute version? The cover looks like a mondo flick!

Trick or Treat (I like it), AC/DC Clipped (3 Razor's Edge/ 2 Blow Up Your Video music videos), Too Scared To Scream, New Year's Evil (cut box but the tape looks as new as its creation), The Exorcist - 25th Anniversary (common, but usually never find these with the mini-promo still included), and Chopping Mall.

Last but not least, I didn't realize this next tape was porn until I saw the VCX sticker on the cassette. Got confused with 1971's The Devil's Nightmare. From VCX's webstore: "1974/Rik Taziner, Lucifer narrates this epic and explains how he must come to Earth for entertainment. On Earth, he discovers 3 lusty nymphettes, who he converts to his carnal ways. With time and discipline, they learn to satisfy all of Satan's erotic desires. The ladies learn that being BAD can be GREAT!! Starring Desiree West, Bonnie Holiday, Paul Thomas, Kelley Guthrie, Angela Haze." Yep, going straight to hell owning this one!

HorrorBlips: vote it up!

I used to stare at the box for Class of Nuke 'em High at my local video store as a kid, particularly the picture of the guy with the arm down his throat. I've still never seen it but would love to.

According to an Amazon review, Troma's DVD lacks that very scene...strange...

Class of Nuke 'em High is one of my all time favorite movies. I never knew Troma's own release was cut though. With them reaching out into Blu-ray I really hope it get's re-released fully uncut. Thanks for sharing your finds as usual.

...do you dare tread upon the staircase?
