Nekromantik (1987) & Nekromantik 2 (1991) - 1992 Film Threat VHS

.
Like every other release of Jörg Buttgereit's corpse fucking duo, these Film Threat tapes are sought after and collectible. The small zine-small distributor-turned webzine also released Buttgereit's Der Todesking (The Death King) in a hard "regular-sized" clamshell unlike these two slipcases. These flicks seem to make strange bedfellows, I found Nekromantik recently from an old guy with other comparatively mild horror titles and Nekromantik 2 years ago from an attractive Asian woman at a yard sale. Wonder went on in that house? I also have a copy of Nekromantik with a photocopied Film Threat cover on high grade S-VHS. Seems like overkill...

Man, I loved ordering videos like these from Film Threat back in the day! I even had a "I (heart) Film Threat" bumper sticker--the heart was an image of a real bloody human heart! People would get out of their cars at stoplights and ask me what the eff it meant. Ah, youth.

Funny, we just posted about Nekromantik but neither one of us have ever seen the sequel. Apparently its even crazier than the first.

I am so glad I bought both copies when I did about 6 years ago, I lucked out and purchased each for about 6$ a piece on ebay.

I do kind of regret not buying them on DVD while they were still in print. Especially since the dvd for the second film came with the soundtrack.

...do you dare tread upon the staircase?
