Hellraiser (1987) - The Irish Sun Horror Classics Promo DVD

.
Found this on eBay last week for four bucks shipped; a free DVD included in an edition of Ireland's The Irish Sun tabloid of Clive Barker's Hellraiser. The 1.78:1 widescreen transfer is anamorphic yet interlaced (see capture #3 below) and sloppily encoded with globs of digital gremlins. No menu, chapters, or extras with the audio in simple Dolby Stereo. But what did you expect for free?

There's no studio logo on the slipsleeve, disc itself, or disc "in-play", but it's fairly obvious this R2/PAL disc was produced by Anchor Bay. The film is presented uncut and oddly the disc's file name is "EVIL_DEAD". It's safe to assume Raimi's classic was probably also one of the paper's promotional selections at one point. It was cheap enough to pick up out of curiosity...

This disc fits right in nicely with the Lament Config box's booklet.

Aha, I remember this promotion - I think I got the full set:

Hellraiser, Hellraiser 2, Evil Dead, Flowers In The Attic, Children Of The Corn, Halloween, Don't Look in The Basement & Scanners. Not a bad haul.

Yeah, love to eventually collect 'em all!

What's the running time on the DVD? I've heard rumors that Anchor Bay's UK HELLRAISER release (while sporting impressive extras) was an NTSC-PAL conversion, but DVDcompare does not list the runtime for the UK editions.

...do you dare tread upon the staircase?
