Unappealing Title of the Dead

.
CHUD is reporting Romero's next and hopefully better than Diary... "secondary" undead series installment finally has an official title. Instead of the curiously interesting "...of the Dead"; we now have the arcade game console ready title "Survival of the Dead." Groan I say, it's always great to hear Romero project news and simply see the man still kickin', but is anyone else a bit disappointed with such a stock title choice?

Yeah, I would rather see it called "...of the Dead".

It's just an all around cooler title.

I am, I thought it was going to be Island of the Dead for the longest time... at least its still the same movie, whatever the heck he wants to call it.

have you seen the plot description of this thing?

"On a small island off North America's coast, the dead rise to menace the living. Yet...the islanders can't bring themselves to exterminate their loved ones, despite the growing danger from those the once held dear. A rebel among them hunts down all the zombies he can find, only to be banished from the island for assassinating his neighbors and friends. On the mainland, bent on revenge, he encounters a small band of survivors in search of an oasis on which to build a new life. Barely surviving an attack from a mass of ravenous flesh-eaters. They commandeer a zombie-infested ferry and sail to the island. There, to their horror, they discover that the locals have chained the dead inside their homes, pretending to live 'normal' lives...with bloody consequences. What ensues is a desperate struggle for survival and the answer to a question never posed in Romero's Dead films: Can the living ever live in peace with the dead?"

I am beginning to think that George has lost it.

I dunno, Romero seems to be further exploring humanity through zombiedom as usual by the sound of that synopsis. Plus one of the cooler tidbits of RE: Apocalypse was the priest chaining and feeding a captive zombie. I have the faith, dude.

...do you dare tread upon the staircase?
