My advice for this weekend?

Skip that PG-13 mutilation of the comic that looks like a teenybopper rendition of Hellboy starring whoever directed by whomever and watch this final milestone of Italian Horror instead...

Jayson Kennedy said...: I can't say that, a more literal adaption of the comic would have the potential to be something really special under the right guidance.

You can tell by the Dead of Night trailer that everything has been drastically altered. If the character alone remained true, the film would have much of its teen appeal totally stripped away because the severely neurotic Dog would be boring to the current film's target audience.

Anyway, I have never read the comic book so I don't know anything about the character. The film looks similar to Dead Heat so I may catch it just to see how it compares.; 4/30/11, 12:24 AM

Franco Macabro said...: My favorite Italian Horror movie is Cemetary Man, its poetic, gory, and beautiful all roled up into one. This new Dylan Dog movie has me worried as well, but what the hell, I might give it a shot just out of curiosity. I wonder just how bad it could be, dont want to judge it just yet.
