The Dead Matter, or that purple-covered horror flick at Hot Topic stores...

.
After watching this utterly boring waste last night, I can only muster this simple assessment, but trust me...

I'm sorry that I can't go into detail, but I tried three times to write about my qualms and I'm finding it almost as boring to think about this one as it is to watch.

I'm surprised this film has such a presence online and a 5.9/10 on the IMDB. It's not even an interesting failure. Just a big ball of boredom. I guess unless you're a big fan of Midnight Syndicate, that is...

Just to highlight one of the biggest problems I had with it is how much power Divoff's vampire has. He can shapeshift to totally mimic others, make others hallucinate through eye contact, and dissolve into a killer black cloud of poor CG. Given this, he has multiple opportunities to easily kill off his hunter and all in his way (even in the first five minutes), but doesn't. It's just dumb.

...do you dare tread upon the staircase?
